Design Description
This “high-country” Craftsman style home, sited amongst gently rolling and wooded riding trails in an upscale equestrian community, was designed for comfortable living and easy entertaining. The primary design concept was to integrate the interior and exterior spaces so that the owners always feel connected to the natural beauty that surrounds them. It is beautifully sited on a large wooded lot with covered verandas on the main and upper levels facing the front and rear yards to capture the breathtaking vistas in all directions. In addition to numerous quiet spaces for relaxation, the home offers a gaming room with billiards table, a theater room, and large gathering spaces. Resort-style outdoor amenities feature a free-form natural boulder lagoon pool; an outdoor fully-equipped kitchen; a cabana bar; and a stone fireplace to create a great place for family entertaining. Rustic elegant details abound throughout the home which is heavily textured with dry-stack natural stone, shake siding, rough hand-hewn timber beams, and wide-plank distressed wood floors. The use of these natural materials, brought in from the exterior to the interior, reinforces continuity of design and the relationship to the equestrian community in which this house is sited.
